Privacy Policy

Habits is an Android habit-tracking app published by Gecko Road. It is designed to work without an account and to keep your routine data on your device. This policy explains what Habits handles, what leaves your device, and the choices available to you.

Information stored on your device

Habits stores the information you enter in the app's private local database. This can include habit names, colors, schedules, selected weekdays, weekly targets, completion history, archive status, reminder times and notification references, theme preferences, onboarding status, and a cached Habits Pro entitlement state.

Gecko Road does not receive your habit names, schedules, completion history, reminders, or Insights data. Insights are calculated on your device. Habits does not provide app-level cloud sync, and Android operating-system backup is disabled for the app.

Notifications

If you enable reminders and grant notification permission, Habits schedules notifications locally on your device. Reminder delivery can be affected by Android notification, battery, focus, and device settings. Gecko Road does not operate a notification server for Habits and does not receive the content of your reminders.

Habits Pro purchases

Google Play processes Habits Pro payments. RevenueCat provides subscription validation, entitlement management, restoration, fraud prevention, and subscription analytics. RevenueCat may receive purchase history, product and subscription status, purchase tokens or receipts, an anonymous app user ID, and basic device, app, platform, and store metadata needed to operate those services.

Habits disables RevenueCat's automatic device-identifier collection for attribution. Gecko Road does not receive your full payment-card details. Google Play and RevenueCat process information under their own privacy terms, and RevenueCat acts as a service provider for Gecko Road. Gecko Road does not sell Habits data.

What Habits does not use

No Habits account or login.
No third-party advertising or cross-app behavioral tracking.
No habit-content analytics or remote usage analytics.
No AI processing of your habit data.
No social feed or app-level cloud synchronization.

Support communications

If you contact Gecko Road, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, device and app details, the anonymous Purchase support ID shown in Habits Settings, and a description of the issue. Do not send passwords, payment-card information, full purchase tokens, or unrelated sensitive information.

How information is used and shared

Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support Habits.
Validate Habits Pro access and restore purchases.
Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.
Comply with law and protect users, Gecko Road, Google, and service providers.

Information is disclosed only as needed to Google Play, RevenueCat, support and hosting providers, professional advisers, or authorities when required by law or necessary to protect rights and security. Gecko Road does not rent or sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

Habit data remains on your device until you delete individual habits, use Settings → Clear all data, or uninstall Habits. Clear all data removes habits and completion history but may retain basic app preferences needed to keep the app usable. Uninstalling removes the app's local storage under Android's normal behavior.

There is no Habits account to delete. Clearing local data or uninstalling does not cancel a Google Play subscription or automatically erase transaction records held by Google or RevenueCat. To request deletion or access relating to RevenueCat records, email alex@geckoroad.com and include the selectable Purchase support ID shown in Habits Settings. Google Play retains and handles its billing records under Google's policies and legal obligations.

Support messages may be kept as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain business records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

Security

Habits relies on Android's app-private storage and encrypted network connections used by Google Play and RevenueCat. Gecko Road takes reasonable measures to protect information, but no device, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure.

Children

Habits is intended for a general audience age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Gecko Road does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through Habits.

Changes

This policy may change when Habits, its services, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate notice when required.
